About Green Future

Built to be judged
by the bill.

Green Future was founded on a simple idea: a solar company should be judged by its customers' electric bills after installation — not by its sales pitch before.

Our Why
We refuse to watch others use sunlight to manufacture darkness.

That's the current state of the U.S. solar industry — and the most important reason we founded Green Future.

Why I started Green Future

In the summer of 2022 — most people remember — gas prices were spiking. My wife and I were spending close to $1,000 a month on gas for our two cars. We decided to buy an EV. Of course, that summer EVs were almost impossible to get your hands on.

We finally managed to grab one. Drove it home, went to plug it in, and that's when I realized — California electricity is also expensive. Thank goodness for solar, I thought. Until I started researching the cost of solar systems.

Luckily, I'm a do-it-yourself kind of person. After a lot of research and preparation, a few friends and I installed several solar systems ourselves. We hit plenty of industry roadblocks along the way, but with help from professionals, we made it through the full permit / installation / inspection / PTO process. I documented the journey in articles and videos and posted them online — to tell more people: you can actually install solar yourself, at much lower cost.

But I had oversimplified it. Most people don't have my electrical background. They don't have professionals as neighbors. They don't have the time to dive into a completely unfamiliar field. Some got lost in the local permit process and system design. Some installed without permits at all, and the photos they sent me showed serious safety hazards. Others ordered products without reading the full guide and ended up with mismatched, non-returnable hardware.

So I took the DIY content down and stopped recommending it for the average homeowner. But what really shocked me, during all this, was the number of people who started sending me their solar contracts.

That's when I realized — the biggest problem in the U.S. solar market isn't high prices. It's the traps buried inside the contracts. And a lot of people's lives are already being disrupted because of them.

Think about it: every evening when you flip the light switch at home, you regret not having read the contract more carefully — because you're paying more now than you did before solar. Think about inheriting your parents' home, only to discover you have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to buy out a leased solar array that's only worth a few thousand in equipment. Think about your system suddenly breaking, but the installer who built it filed for bankruptcy and disappeared — you don't even have a design drawing, so the electrician you find charges hundreds just to diagnose and thousands to repair.

Sunlight is supposed to be the warmest, most generous thing in the world — and yet someone is using sunlight to manufacture darkness. I couldn't stand by and let that happen. I had to do something to change it. That is the original force behind Green Future.

Whenever anyone asks me what Green Future's advantage is, I always answer: yes, I can guarantee our pricing is among the lowest in the industry — but our real advantage is the starting point. We exist to push back against the darkness in this industry. Every interaction with every customer, we have to give them all the facts they need to know.

We know that the more mysterious and fragile solar is made to seem, the easier it is to sell at a premium. So we keep trying to show you: a solar system is actually simpler than the refrigerator or the TV in your home. Because our joy doesn't come from profit margins — it comes from letting one more beam of sunlight into the darkness.

Why we exist

The U.S. solar industry has a trust problem. Too many companies use high-pressure sales tactics, opaque financing, and inflated projections to close deals. Customers sign contracts based on promises, then discover that the reality looks different.

Green Future was built to fix that. We start with the bill — not with a sales pitch. We analyze usage patterns, rate plans, and property conditions before recommending anything. And sometimes, the honest recommendation is not to install solar at all.

How we work

01

Analyze first

Every project starts with a real bill analysis. We study usage patterns, rate plans, and property context before recommending anything.

02

Recommend honestly

If solar makes sense, we design a system sized to your actual usage. If it does not, we tell you — and help you optimize what you have.

03

Price transparently

Our lean structure means less money spent on advertising and commissions. That translates to lower quotes for the same equipment and quality.

04

Verify by the bill

After installation, the final check is the utility bill. If purchased electricity does not drop dramatically, something was done wrong.
